Brian Hays - Lead Pastor

Brian Hays and his family moved to Colorado in 2015 to become the 3rd Lead Pastor of Rock Creek Church (before the merger with Boulder Valley Church of Christ to become LEGACY CHURCH). He is married to his wife Sandy and has four kids (Naomi, Luke, Seth and Max). Brian loves all things outdoors, family, sports, history, politics, and preaching the scriptures! He enjoys a good cup of coffee or a pint along with a great conversation.

Alex Rowan - Associate Pastor (Sunday & Discipleship Ministries)

Alex Rowan joined the Legacy Church Leadership Team in 2017. He now serves as the Associate Pastor, overseeing Sunday Mornings and Adult Discipleship Ministries. He is married to his wife Amanda and has two young boys (Teddy and Henry). They are all Colorado natives and Alex is a big Broncos fan! After working toward his undergraduate in Theology in Spokane, WA, he moved back to Colorado and worked toward his M.Div at Denver Seminary. He loves his family, the outdoors, music, technology, and a good board game!

Wendy Steele - Children's Pastor

Wendy Steele started attending Legacy Church with her family in 2019 and joined the leadership team in 2021. She oversees all of our Basecamp Ministries (0-5th grade) during our Sunday services. She and her husband, Tim, have two adult kids, and she likes to garden and go to concerts.

In my long walk through life, and coming to know Jesus as an adult, I am realizing all I truly need is Him. I love how 2 Corinthians 12:9 puts it: " My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

Chase McClure - Youth Pastor

Chase McClure is a Colorado native. He joined Legacy Church Leadership as the Youth Pastor in August of 2022. He is currently pursuing an M.Div at Denver Seminary. He is married to Katy, his high school sweetheart, and they have 2 children (Keeley and Miles). Chase loves spending time with family and friends in any setting, but especially in the outdoors. He enjoys archery, hunting, camping, sports and video games.

Matt Eldred - Operations Manager

Matt Eldred and his family moved to Colorado in 2000 and he has been on staff at Boulder Valley Church of Christ since 2006 as the worship minister. Now he is the operations manager for Legacy Church. His two boys, Clayton and Timmy, are his pride and joy. Matt is a Nebraska transplant and still claims the Huskers as the home team, but also loves CU Athletics and all things Colorado. As a preacher's kid, Matt continues the passion of being the hands and feet of Jesus to the community and is the Executive Director for TLC Learning Center, a 66-year-old non-profit organization serving children with special needs. Go Big Red!

"I believe that church isn't something you do, it's something you are. It is only by the Grace of God and the mercy he has shown me through my many mistakes that I'm still in ministry today. If he can use me, he can use anyone! He's still faithful and working on me to make me all that I can be."

HOW WE LEAD

Legacy Church is an Elder-led church. Elders are nominated and elected by the congregation to oversee the ministries and operations of the church. The pastoral staff submits to the Elder Board and are responsible for the day-to-day life of the church. The Lead Team is comprised of volunteers who are responsible for specific ministries.
